- File Clerk – Temporary (Req# N1001) – Agency Operations, Las Vegas Nevada
Performs a variety of routine clerical and manual tasks required to maintain and service files. Tasks include alpha and numeric filing, sorting and cross-referencing. Works under close supervision. The ideal candidate must be able to: Receive and sort incoming documents, and match them to files as necessary; Access and deliver files as necessary; Maintain department records (certificates of mailing, follow-up, etc.) adhering to file room procedures; Set up new files as necessary; Perform file and unmatched document searches; Dispose of obsolete files in accordance with established retirement schedule or legal requirements; Handle calls (phone and walk ins); Perform other miscellaneous clerical and related duties including photocopying and office messenger; Assist with office moves (furniture, supplies, etc); Provide assistance to other departments as necessary; Perform other duties as assigned. Candidate must have a High School diploma or equivalent (G. E. D.); Minimum 3 month’s related insurance experience; bilingual English-Spanish; Alpha and numeric filing experience; Specialized Knowledge and/or Skills include: Keyboard speed of 30 words per minute; Good interpersonal skills and temperament; Exposure to MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook preferred; Ability to add subtract, multiply and divide; Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form; Ability to write, read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Underwriter (Req# U1002) – Casualty, Century City
Fully trained and qualified underwriting position. Responsible for underwriting new and renewal business in terms of risk selection, retention and pricing in accordance with underwriting guidelines & practices and within the authority granted by the management. Works under minimum supervision. The ideal candidate must be able to: Gather information for the purposes of determination of risk acceptability, policy terms and pricing; Consult the underwriting manager on acceptability, terms and pricing of unusual risks; Review policies issued by producers with policy issue authority to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and level of authority; Provide guidance to assigned producers; Alert management to unusual loss activity; Keep informed about state and local insurance regulations and laws; Make and terminate state and federal regulatory filings for specific policies requiring such filings; Represent the company in a courteous, friendly & professional manner; Promote the goals established by the management. Performs other duties as assigned. Candidate must have High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.); Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university preferred; Insurance Courses (INS 21, 22, and/or 23, CPCU series); Minimum 3 years satisfactory casualty underwriting experience. Requirements include Keyboard speed of 40 words per minute; Knowledge of ISO manual rating rules and procedures; Ability to read write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, routine reports, and correspondence; Ability to communicate effectively with all personnel, management, and vendors; Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide; Ability to efficiently carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form within deadlines; Ability to process and exercise judgment in working with all lines of business handled by the department; Proficiency MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook; Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record and insured automobile.
