In his new role, Bob will handle all matters related to the operations of the Company’s Commercial Casualty Underwriting Department. Bob joined Topa in November 1992 and has over 35 years of experience in the insurance industry. Having held various underwriting and management positions throughout his career, Bob brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new position. Bob’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science (Criminology) from Long Beach State University.

Larry, who has been with Topa since 1986, has been an insurance professional for 39 years beginning his insurance career in 1970 with Republic/Vanguard Insurance Company after proudly serving in the military. Larry worked with various insurance companies including Allianz Underwriters Insurance Company for seven years before joining Topa as Assistant Casualty Manager.

“I consider myself fortunate to have spent the majority of my working years here at Topa Insurance Company. After 20 plus great years with the company, it will be difficult to bid my Topa family farewell. However, I am looking forward to what the future holds as a retiree.” Larry Esposito

Governments and central banks in Europe, Asia and USA have stepped in to shore up the Balance Sheets of major banks and financial institutions to prevent a further deepening of the crisis.

Some politicians and experts have referred to the current financial landscape as the worst since the Great Depression in the 1930s. The global nature of present circumstances makes it unique and counter measures are evolving. Banks – always considered a safe haven – have shown vulnerability and consumer confidence has been shaken. The U.S. Government’s intervention in AIG has raised questions about the stability of the insurance industry also.

It is in the midst of this global financial chaos that I want to assure our valued policyholders and our business partners that Topa Insurance Company continues to operate from a position of strength. Many businesses use credit or debt financing to fund their on-going operations. However, Topa Insurance Company has not had to resort to this. Consequently, we have been unaffected by the current credit crisis plaguing the global economy. While not totally immune from the vagaries of Wall Street, The Group’s long held commitment to diversification and conservatism has mitigated the inevitable impact. Topa Insurance Company has recognized losses on its investment portfolio through the end of the third quarter, 2008, and recorded a modest 5.4% reduction in GAAP equity. Ted, who previously served Topa as Underwriting Manager, Personal Auto, brings a great deal of experience to his new position. For 15 years he was Vice President of Underwriting at Workmen's Auto Insurance Company, where he administered Non-Standard Auto and Preferred Homeowners programs. Prior to Workmen's Auto Insurance Company, Ted was at the CNA Insurance Companies, where he served as Western Regional Controller, monitoring results for commercial and personal lines, and later as Commercial Support Manager of an80-person audit and processing facility. Ted holds a B.A. from Amherst College and a Ph.D. from Cornell University.

Dan Sherrin has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Topa Insurance Company and Topa Insurance Group, effective immediately. Dan joined the Company in July 1993, as Controller and was promoted to Vice President in 1997. Over the years, Dan has assumed responsibilities for Systems and Human Resources. Happy that he will be able to enjoy his much deserved leisure time with family, friends and grandchildren, as a gentleman of character, with a depth of knowledge in the Insurance Industry, matched by few, he will be sorely missed by the Topa family.

Since 1993, Harry has been a Vice-Chairman and Director, sitting on the Topa Insurance Company Board. However, prior to that he was President of the Company, after Universal Security Insurance Company, was purchased by Topa in 1985. Harry was born in Wisconsin, graduating from the University of Wisconsin in Madison in 1949, sandwiched between WWII, where he was accepted as an aviation cadet, and then recalled by the Air Force, serving during the Korean War. When Harry was discharged from service, he embarked upon his property/casualty insurance career which extended over 50 years. Always an honorable man, with a notable sense of humor, he contributed greatly to the conservative underwriting focus of Topa and the standing in the Industry that Topa Insurance Company enjoys today.

Patrick Sessions Assistant Vice President of Claims for Topa Insurance Company.

Patrick joined Topa Insurance Company in September of 2003 as our Operations Manager in our Los Angeles Claims department. As the Operations Manager, Patrick was responsible for all Topa claims offices as well as all satellite claims operations. Patrick was instrumental in implementing and customizing the Advanced Claims System to meet the needs of Topa's Claims department and improve customer service. As the new Assistant Vice President of Claims for TIC Patrick will be responsible for all Topa Insurance Company claims operations and will also provide guidance and support to Topa's subsidiaries.

Janet Toma Assistant Vice President of Human Resources for Topa Insurance Group.

Janet joined Topa Insurance Company in July of 1998 as our Human Resources Administrator. Over the years, Janet has assumed increased responsibility for the Human Resources of our expanded operations along with overseeing a growing staff in our Century City offices. In the past seven years, Topa has seen its staff increase from 80 employees to 185 employees, across the group, which brought about new challenges in Human Resources. As the new Asst. Vice President of Topa Insurance Group for Human Resources, Janet will begin the process of uniting all of the Topa Insurance Group operations including those in the Virgin Islands.

Robert Livingston Assistant Vice President of & Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Topa Insurance Group.

Rob started with Topa Insurance Company in September of 1998 taking on the critical project of Y2K conversion that was in mid stride. Over the past seven years, Rob and our Systems department have expanded their responsibilities to cover all offices within the Topa Insurance Group, creating a virtual private network that crosses several thousand miles over land and sea.As the new CIO for Topa Insurance Group, Rob will oversee the coordination and integration of all of TIG's subsidiaries' systems and communications. Topa's pending expansion out into the Internet will once again expand Systems' and Rob's horizons and responsibilities.

Kalupa joined Topa Insurance Company in 1990 as a Litigation Analyst and was asked to head the company's claims department soon thereafter. He has been an insurance claim professional for over 40 years with experience nationwide including the Caribbean. Jim and his wife Alice are planning to enjoy their retirement in sunny Florida. They will continue to travel the world and spend time with their four adult children and their grandchildren.

The donation was made in direct response to a request from a retired Topa Insurance Company employee now residing at the Silvercrest Residence. The contribution will provide for all proposed structural renovations and will also include the furnishing of exercise equipment. According to a Topa representative, 'This contribution not only gives us an opportunity to make a positive difference in a past employee's life, but to give back to our community at large.
